Welcome to Outcries! It’s another great selection of comics again this week – most noteworthy is the “formal” appearance of the “new” Captain America! Although I’m still bothered at the death of the original Cap, I’m anxious to see Bucky take on the Red Skull, Faust and others (…and now for the return of Nick Fury! …just watch for it!)
Also this week is the launch of the next release from Magic the Gathering – Morningtide which takes up where Lorwyn left off.
Watch for notice of some Magic the Gathering Specials to go along with this release coming later this week!
And just arrived late last week is a big selection of HeroClix! All of the favorites from the past year are here: Aliens, Predator, Legion of Super Heroes, plus many more – and watch for the appearance of some special Convention edition ‘Clix coming soon!
Plus there’s the just arrived McFarlane’s Dragons Series 8: The Rise of Man Hunter Dragon Clan 2! These figures look fabulous – and they’re sure to go fast! Get ‘em while they’re still available!
Clif’s Pick of the Week: Ultimate Fantastic Four #50. In what might be the most underrated of the Ultimate titles, Ultimate FF really won me over once Mike Carey brought in the Ultimate version of Thanos back in issue #33 in part 1 of "God War". We see the re-emergence of him with this issue and he's come for Reed Richards and the Cosmic Cube he has created. Ultimate Thanos is more vial and more ruthless then his regular counter-part and is very much a force to be reckoned with. No obsession with death (yet) and no Infinity anything (hopefully), just total domination. Adding to the great story, is the phenomenal art team from Top Cow lead by penciler Tyler Kirkham making this some of the best FF art I've seen in any of the books. Best of all, this is the start of a new story, so if you've been itching for a shot, this would be it.
The Best of the Rest:
Superman/Batman #45 –The new Aquaman is apparently Namor...neat.
Spawn: Godslayer #6 – Great new take on Spawn and definitely worth trying out.
Marvel Zombies 2 #4 – Its Marvel Zombies. What else do you need?
