Welcome to Outcries! – What better way to follow-up Civil War #7 but with more Civil War! This week it’s the final installment of Civil War Front Line #11 (of 11)! And while the jury’s still out as far as whether CW #7 was the “Final Battle that changed the Marvel Universe (as we know it right now) forever!” – I think there are still plenty of things still to come!
There’s more with the latest 52 (week #43 – man there’s a lot of things to cover [what about Giant Hawkgirl? Batman, Robin, Nightwing wandering around finding themselves? Harvey Dent guarding Gotham? Gordon getting the Commish job back? Bullock getting his job back? And on and on and on…!]), plus the latest selection of Variant Covers, Trade Paperbacks, Graphic Novels and Hardcovers! And Clifton provides his pick of the week – can you guess what it is?
Clif’s Pick of the Week: Civil War #7. Yeah, I know it would be the obvious choice for those who haven’t read it yet and I know that those of you who have just lost what little respect you might have had for me, but I can explain. By the end of the issue (series) you do feel a little let down. Very anti-climactic and most people seem to be disappointed with it. This series was never supposed to single-handedly reshape the Marvel Universe. It was the story that was used as the catalyst. What this is going to do from here out (assuming the guys at Marvel keep it this way) could be enormous! The dynamics between the heroes is forever altered not to mention that the people are standing behind their heroes, an aspect that Marvel seems to have forgotten for quite some time. Civil War itself was written amazingly. In my mind, all the characters where portrayed exactly as they should have and it was a great story front to back. If ya missed it, you can pick up the trade next month and if ya read it, stay tuned for a whole new Marvel Universe!
