Pick of the Week: Iron
and the Maiden #1. To my recollection this would be the second
title published by Aspen that doesn't have anything to do with Michael
Turner (however, he still does one of the covers) and it's a pretty good
start. Created by the same mind that brought us the video games Crash
Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter, we come to find out that Michael
Irons isn't just a ruthless hit man as we all thought when he tries to save
the life of a family of four, thus making him the new #1 enemy of the dreaded Mr.
Big. It's a fun story and it's some cool, cartoony art that fit perfectly
with it. The best part: Turner's noninvolvement is a prime reason that they
give this title guaranteed shipping dates......at least for now.
