Clif’s Pick of the Week: Wolverine #57. In my opinion, Marc
Guggenheim is one of the better writers to have handled Wolverine in
recent memory. His Civil War tie-ins where some of the best ones that
came out (and it actually had something to do with the main story!) and with
issue #57, we get the return of Guggenheim to the title. After a little stint
over at DC (he killed off Bart Allen in Fastest Man Alive) he comes back
and proves why he is meant to be on Wolverine. Nitty and gritty as he
should be, we get Wolverine trying to stop a new terrorist group from
killing Tony Stark, but only because he wants to do it himself. We get to see a
Wolverine that isn't always shown, but always talked about and it
certainly pays off.
Recommended Reads from last week: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #544 OMD (…off to a good
start – and I always like to see Tony Stark get whipped…), BOYS #10 (MR) (…always
good, always grittier than you expect!), DOKTOR SLEEPLESS #2 (MR), GREEN
ARROW YEAR ONE #3 (OF 6), INFINITY INC #1 (…I hope this isn’t just about
whiney kids who’ve lost their powers [that they got from trusting an evil
man…], …that whole generational “entitlement”. We’ll see), METAL MEN #2 (OF
8) (…still good and getting better [even though some of it doesn’t make
sense]), WOLVERINE #57 (…the way he was meant to be!), SHE-HULK 2 #21
(…never liked it …never made sense – but all is explained here! […sort
of…the Rawhide Kid is still there…), and OUTSIDERS #50 (…OK…but
“Carface”? …maybe I just expect too much).

printings of many of the titles you want! And as always we’ve got the latest selection of Variant Covers, Trade Paperbacks, Graphic Novels
and Hardcovers!
COMICS NEWS!
Marvel has let us know that their Best-Selling Authors titles (formerly Marvel Dabel titles) such as ANITA BLAKE, HEDGE KNIGHT, RED PROPHET, WYRMS and MAGICIAN: APPRENTICE will return to their regular schedules once scheduling issues have been worked out. A publishing plan for each of these titles has been developed and is in final review. Once the process is complete, brand new comics and collections of these titles will be available at comic stores everywhere.
