Magic the Gathering Tournaments!
Thanks to all who came to participate in our first Magic the Gathering Tournament this past Friday! The next one is scheduled for Friday September 14, 2007 starting at 7:00 PM. Those interested can sign-up at the store or by e-mailing us at Outland@outlandcomics.com! Seating is limited to the first 16 that sign-up!
Clif’s Pick of the Week: Action Comics #855. There really is only one word that needs to be said in order to get you to read this: Bizarro! In part one of "Escape from Bizarro World"; we follow Superman as he hunts done Bizarro after he has seemingly kidnapped Pa Kent. Since Johns and Donner's first arc is going to be finished later this year in the next Annual, we finally receive their second arc and it starts with a bang. It's well written and fun but it's all done in the typical Bizarro fashion (although, he's not speaking in reverse, so.....), but what makes this better than the rest is the brilliant artwork of Eric Powell. Best known for his work on Dark Horse's The Goon, he brings a simplistic yet gritty approach to Bizarro, making him look cooler than I think I've ever seen him. As the title of the story says, we're not in Kansas anymore so be prepared for a lot of Bizarro’s.
